Digital innovations for health, care and local government at Connected Local Government Live

If you are developing apps and other digital innovations for the health, care and local government sectors, you may want to take advantage of the ‘pitch and talk’ showcase opportunity at Connected Local Government Live, 28/29 June in Birmingham.

This opportunity comes free of charge!

The concept – a cross between Dragon’s Den, an unconference, and a speed dating session – was tested at the ADASS Care Apps Showcase on  March 7.  App developers and innovators, from local authorities, start-ups and established players, are selected from those who upload details to Public Service Digital Exchange our online showcase.

The live showcases (see video) enable the audience – senior commissioners and budget holders from local authorities, health, and other public services – to hear about lots of new ideas and engage immediately with their developers in face-to-face discussions. The outcome of the Care Apps showcase was extremely positive in terms of number and quality of contacts made.

Essex Digital Healthy Schools programme to go live on 11th May

Digital Healthy Schools launch

The Digital Healthy Schools Programme is a collaboration between Essex County Council (ECC), Active Essex, Anglia Ruskin Health Partners (ARHP) and ORCHA. This work is the first of its kind GLOBALLY.

By working closely with the schools, students and more than 100 teachers have designed and are about to deliver a programme, which is set to revolutionise the way young people can support themselves, their friends, and family through the use of health apps or mhealth.

From the 11th May we will be working in schools with young people discussing about how to best manage their health and wellbeing, and the role that apps can play in supporting this. They will then be invited to go to their very own “app store” to search for, discover and recommend the best apps!

We are delighted to share our campaign with you and look forward to launching to site on the 11th May! Take a look at https://myhealthessex.orcha.co.uk!
